Description

Sicily is the only Italian region where pistachios (pistacia vera) are produced and the city of Bronte, with more than three thousand hectares in specialised cultivation, is the main area of cultivation (more than 80% of the regional surface area) with a production with peculiar characteristics. Bronte, Eden of pistachios, with a fruit whose taste and aroma are universally recognised as unique and special. The 'green gold', as the "Pistachio verde di Bronte P.D.O."The Protected Designation of Origin was obtained in 2009. Pistachio is the main economic resource of the vast territory of the town of Etna.
