BRAIDES
BAKERY BISCUIT FACTORY CALIO
6 in stock
Le shortbread braids are biscuits with a twisted shape, resembling small plaits or spirals. The shortbread dough is made from flour, sugar, butter and eggs, and is sometimes enriched with flavourings such as vanilla or lemon peel for a fresh touch.
Once the dough has been prepared, it is divided into small portions that are shaped by hand, creating thin strips of dough. These strips are then twisted by hand to form the typical plaits, taking care not to break them.
After being formed, the plaits are placed on a baking tray and brushed with a little beaten egg to give them an even browning while baking. Sometimes, they are sprinkled with caster sugar before baking to create an even crispier and sweeter crust.
Baking takes place in the oven at a medium temperature, until the plaits turn golden and crispy. The result is a light, fragrant biscuit with a delicate buttery flavour, perfect to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. Handmade treccine have a rustic and genuine appearance, which makes them even more irresistible!
