Contemporary taste, craft production 'from tradition', Amaranca is one of the undisputed protagonists of this 'new age'. Our noble amaro dell'Etna draws copiously from the past, remaining faithful to the resources of the land and tradition, while at the same time building a bridge to the future, in the light of a new conception of amaro, ever closer to the young, to neophytes of good Italian-style drinking and to the art of mixology.

But what is the secret of Amaranca's unique taste? What has determined its growing success? 

The first citrus-based bitter: authentic Sicilian poetry

Before the intuition of Santo Romeo, founder of Romeno Vini, no one had thought of making a citrus-based bitter. His choice fell on the wild orange, Citrus aurantium, known as Melangolo, considered 'the mother of all citrus fruits' because it has always been used as rootstock for the production of other types of citrus (lemons, oranges, mandarins, etc.). A rare and precious ingredient, introduced to Sicily from the East by the Crusaders, which since 1998 has defined Amaranca's unique, enveloping and Mediterranean flavour. 

Sip after sip, Amaranca releases all the essence and the enveloping scent of Sicilian wild orange joining the sparkling notes of Etna's aromatic herbs with which it is made, in an unforgettable taste explosion. We do not, however, know the full list of raw materials with which Amaranca is made, jealously guarded by the Romeo family, an extraordinary and original mix of local raw materials that makes it recognisable at first sip, beyond imitations, creating a unmistakable liqueur. 

Balanced, round, bitter at the right point and at the same time sweet. An enveloping bouquet, intriguing e harmonicin which the hints of citrus fruits and a pleasant aroma with refined persistence. At the tasting Amaranca asserts itself for these exceptional characteristics, which seduce even the least expert and which are best expressed when Amaranca is served neat, either at room temperature or chilled, or in a low tumbler, enriched with a few fresh mint leaves and a slice of lime. Amaranca is an authentic Sicilian masterpiece that is hard to leave because of its versatility and pleasantness.
